Blacked out stock muffler on my 2LT.

I'm not interested in geting an aftermarket muffler but the stock muffler stood out too much, I used low gloss engine paint to paint the muffler. Here's a couple of pics.

Great idea! My wife doesn't want a new muffler but this'll help hide the "turtle".

It never ceases to amaze me the things people think of when it comes to modding their HHR's. Good idea...it looks great.

Thanks for the compliments, with the car on the ground ( as you can see it's on my lift ) you would have a hard time seeing the muffler.

Maybe a stupid question, but did you take the muffler off to paint it?

No, here's what I used, engine paint, masking tape and newspaper. I masked off any area I didn't want painted near the muffler, that includes covering the back side of the wheel ( left side/drivers side ) with newspaper so no overspray got to it.

If you live near Dewitt stop by and we'll get it up in the air and get it done.
