Bowtie customizations
Hot pink vinyl overlay to match the pinstripe. It's obviously not perfect cause I did it myself and I'm new to this but from a few feet away it looks sweet.

Okay, so I want to be cool and copy everyone else with the color and overlay...
I tried to figure the best way to do it...so for those who did that chevy lettering in one color, then the inside another how did you do it?
If I want the lettering and the outside edges to be black and the remainder to be an accent color, how would I do this? it's kind of the opposite of what you have pictured.
I figured the best way is to spray paint the whole bowtie the accent color. Then create a stencil of the lettering and transfer that onto the bowtie then hand paint the letters and edges black??
Or if I wanted to do it like most of you did, with the edge and lettering one color and the insde balck, how do i do it? Do I still paint the whole bowtie the accent color, then tape the edges off, then stencil the letters on by pencil and paint around all of it in black?
This guy make them in different color bowtie with the lettering cut out to show the color under.

Ratty,
As I mentioned, I had mine painted all white (Todd(UMA) ) did mine. Then I bought the black vinyl overlay that has the chevrolet script cutouts. When I applied the overlay onto the white painted bowtie, it appears that the outer edges are white, center is black and the cutouts are white as well.

Thanks for the clarification.

Daytona Blue ones!
I had my bowties masked off and painted the matching Daytona Blue Metallic, two-stage just like factory paint by a guy who does dent repair.
Then, I had a custom chrome script made up from a font I liked that is unique but evokes the feeling of the old scripts and laid that over the front bowtie. The rear bowtie I left plain and put a larger Chevrolet script that matches the front one on the bottom right corner.
Obligatory crappy camera-phone pics:
