Creating a 'phantom' HHR model....

The HHR Panel RS....be cause making a fake SS is just wrong IMO. The RS has a long history with Chevy, and would fit in nicely between the LT and SS.

By using these, from a 91 Cavalier RS....

I'll be removing the other HHR emblems, except for the 'PANEL' emblem. May make a matching HHR emblem from the 'CHEVROLET' emblems on the Cav.

Gotta clean these up a bit and make new stickybacks....

a fake is a fake, be it an SS or a RS.

But since Chevy isn't offering an RS option, I'm not attempting to make it into another existing model.

By your definition, any customization would make it a 'fake'

hey, i say go for it, why not right? do you have any custom appearance ideas to "differentiate" it from a standard LT? or are you simply going to badge it and call it a day?

Dealerships can create "phantom" editions, car customizers can, why can't an owner! I say go for it, make sure you do more than just looks. Suspension, power, brakes... the works!

Also don't get overwhelmed, small steps are still steps in the right direction! Good luck!

At first it's going to be a badge job, (GM did that for years, Aveo SS anyone?) but a brake upgrade is definitely in the works, as is some mild engine upgrades. There will be interior changes as well. Working on a different grille treatment, and the 'Fall Edition' headlights. Already have the running boards and spoiler. Adding HD radio, (I refuse to pay for satellite), and a small sub setup. I want the mods to look factory, even if they aren't factory pieces.

The whole idea came to me today in the junkyard when I spotted the RS badges, it went well with the other mods I had planned as something between an LT and an SS. A "what if" model, if the sales were strong enough for Chevy to consider extra trim levels.
