Delta Sonic car washes ?
Just curious if anyone out there is either using the unlimited Deltasonic car wash or delta sonic car washes at all.
Here in The Syracuse NY area we get a ton of road salt put on the roads.
Delta sonic charges $16.99 for there best car washthey offer
or you can pay a monthly fee of I think $24.99 for unlimitted car washes and when you sign up first time you get a $20.00 applebees coupon.
Ususally I am not too concerned about the road salt on the cars I drive through our winters here but I really like this HHR
and would like to keep it as rust free as possible.
When you purchase this wash they ask you if you want rain x applied at the end or if you want the rust preventative sprayed on the underneath of the car as it goes through the wash.Of course when I ask exactly what they spray on the underneath of the car they just look at me funny and say "well it helps keep the underneath of the car from rusting"
Anyone know what they are spraying and just curious what you opinions are on the spraying under the cars is anyhow obviously it could push the salt into areas where you do not want it but the road salt is going to get there any how.
I am not overly excited about their car washes since the hhr is low and when you go through there rails you can feel the car move a little once in a while.
Guess I am just looking for some pros and cons on this.
Seems tough to beat since I usually wash it at least twice a month anyhow.

Being responsible, at one time, for a good number of automatic car washes, I would mention the percentage of profit is enormous in car wash "add ons"...something like 1000%. That includes wheel and tire treatments, air freshener/cleaning, spray on waxing, repellents, under carriage protections, etc. And they provide very minimal protection unless used continually.
So, use your discretion.

Well long story short I went there wash a couple days back and heard a noise on the right side of the hhr and felt the car move.
Afterwards I noticed a softball size dent that is very hard to see on top of thefender
It is only pushed in a tiny bit bueeing how I have done a lot of body work in the past and I still show cars I pickup on these things.another words I had someone else look and they could not see it till O pointed it o
So yesterday thinking it was a flook I went back through the Delta sonic car wash.
Heard the noise again same side looked and now I have a ding in the fender.
I know it was not there before but at the same time just can't see what is causing it other than maybe one of there cloths that hang down ?
I could even see a mark on the ding where the paint was hit
They had me write out a claim ticket not sure where that will go.
Anyone out there either work at deltasonic and ever see this happen
I am wondering of it has something to do with the eau the car sits and body lines etc
The car wash manager said the noise I ea hearing was probably just there tire scrubbers but I could clearly here and feel something catch then a mild hit to the car
Any advice would be great
I plan on going back through one last time to see what happens

I do use them in the winter but I'll get the touchless and on occasion the Superkiss which includes underbody wash. I stay away from the extras but the staff I'm sure is requred to give the sales pitch. It certainly sounds like there's a problem with their equipment but may be tough to prove. I have had other vehicles with obvious damage the equipment caused and they honored the claim. Good luck.
You started with a dent, then got a ding, the next time there may be a crush..... I would not go back through unless you and the owner are in the washing area on that side of the vehicle where this is happing to actually see it happening. Otherwise stay outta there.
+1 for the touchless. Also, be aware that the detergents used in the automatic washes eventually get underneath your chevy badges both front and rear. For some reason, the water/detergent gets underneath them and soon they will start to fall off. I took both of mine off, painted them black and super glued back on.
Rochester, NY is also known for plenty of snow & salt. So I opted for the unlimited back in August. Now I have a clean exterior most of the time & no problems seen/heard so far. Right now I'm in Orlando FL so the snoq tires & unlimited washes are being wasted. I did get a wash here yesterday - $24!!! But they did a great job - even inexpectedly the interior - Blackie has never looked better!
