Door and Fender Spears - came out nice.

Spent yesterday applying these fender and door spears. I'm pretty happy with the result and thought I would share a few insights from the experience.
I ordered the kit online. The directions were pretty good but some of the pieces, especially angled tips and rounded ends on the door spears were all different and kind of sloppy. Kind of disappointed but I trimmed them myself and it wasn't too hard. Need to seal the ends with clear nail polish. The instructions involve measuring and applying strips of masking tape as a guide line for applying the spears. The instructions said to put the masking tape below the application line, but I found it easier to put the tape above the application line as it was easier to see the edge as you were generally looking down at the work.
First dry fitting the pieces several times is recommended as you only get one chance to apply the spears - the adhesive is incredibly sticky!! I recessed the fender spears that are on the door about 1/4 inch from the door edge as it seemed to need that clearance for the door to open without the spear end hitting the body. The instructions didn't address this but experimentation showed it to be necessary.
Knowing what I know now I would have the confidence to buy a roll of trim and cut it myself - probably a lot cheaper! Anyhow, I am really happy with the result and hope to demystify the process for anyone else who wants to try it.
I really like the fender spears.. Not so keen on the door spears.
Sometimes you can cut on a 45* to look seemless & still allow door opening..
& chicklet looks out of place now.. Piece of fishing line & it is off..
