Sorry to hear about the LED's CH!!! That would have been awesome! I like the EL strip though! Probably looks great at night driving! I wonder if you can wire into the potentiometer that controls the gauge's brightness. Then you could dim it with the gauges!

What are the MCD's of the 5mm blue that you have? Have any plans for them?

8000 MCD for both the red and blue. They are bright. I have other plans for the blues but the reds would be of no use to me. Seeing as how they are 8000 MCD they might be good for people looking to put a red LED in their headliner.

I figured out the sound activated part too. It's useless when I'm driving because of the vibration and road noise but it works pretty good sitting still with the engine turned off and radio on. Or with the radio off while talking to someone.

I'm at about 35,000. The warranty is almost up so screw it....I can do whatever I want now without having to worry about GM blaming me for problems. If my car gets screwed up because on me or not it's my responsibility anyways.

What's an EL strip? Are there a lot of little LEDs in there? Is it glued on? My underbody lighting dances to my music, so could I hook it to that? (I know, you're laughing at me, but I'm not afraid to show my ignorance...) In my next life I'm going to be a computer genius/grease monkey, only a dark and sultry tall one with big bazooms... dare to dream!

electroluminescent = EL. Like an indiglow watch. It is a flat evenly light strip that is flexible and produces no heat. It's held on by really thin two sided tape that you can't see because the bottom of the strip is recessed so it sits flush.
