Fog light covers?

When I was scoping out HHRs a few months ago, one dealer had a tricked-out model with body-paint matched, vent-style fog light covers. It looked pretty slick, and probably a good idea since they are so low to the ground, and Michigan roads tend to sand-blast anything that far down on a car.

Does anyone know where to find these? I called the dealership and they are clueless, even though they are the ones who souped up the car in the first place.

The "vent-style fog light covers" you saw are on all HHR's that do not have fog lights. They are simply plastic inserts that fill the fog light holes:

Hope it helps,

Yep, that's what I saw. Dang, they look nice, too. Oh well, are there dark/translucent caps available? I'd think that would be one of the first aftermarket items made for a vehicle...

If they are available...I don't remember seeing anyone mention them here...and we don't miss much.

As Mike said...what you see are the stock covers that come on the HHR with no fog lamps. Mine have the same thing as above and I have a 1LT with no fog lights. I'm sure a crafty person could remove the original ones, cut out the center vent area and put in something like you're talking about though.

Actually, yes it is. One place is the link below. You may need to custom order. The other method is to buy a piece from someone that stocks the 3M Paint Protection product in bulk rolls (usually auto paint suppliers or the film installers themselves).

The application to a relatively flat surface is easy, if you take your time and think it out. It gets very difficult when you try to apply it over curved and radiis areas, where it needs to be stretched correctly.

I originally went with aftermarket. Later I got my hands on a set of the stocks and swapped those out and still used my aftermarket wiring.

I have a thread here with what I did. Quick search should locate it for you.
