Mine uses a suction cup mount above the speedometer with the bottom of the GPS resting on the dash. Easy for a quick glance to check out the road ahead of me.

 

bolted my pad to center hatch lid with small flathead bolts. next owner can deal with it.

 

That's a pretty good one too.

Or just go in dash. See my little blue HHR floating across the water, while I was on the ferry to Anderson Island. Sorry about the lousy picture, it's not like I was busy at the time, I think I was chuckling at what the girl in the box was saying about the next turn.
