You get the kit from GM Accessories and they include pretty good instructions with them. I wanted mine put on NOW, so I gave it to one of my techs to do. Good instructions come with the rear applique also. Part #'s are:

19166196 Handle Kit (all four)
19166195 Rear Applique kit.

i have been using a process called "black candy" its a translucent paint that goes over anything nicely. i wish i had caught this post eairler, i just sold a chrome stock grill that i could have modded up and candied for you, heres a pic of the grill on the shop van...
