The HID pretty much double your visibility.

during normal driving conditions...HID's are useless in fog and rain, make visibility even worse

Maybe not old fashioned but just old?
For me. The eyes ain't what they used to be. I need all the light I can get. Especially at night.

Says who? I see much better in the fog and rain with mine. The output of light is greater than that of stock bulbs so why would that change during the fog or rain?
