How do I remove panel off tailgate?
#2
take the lil plastic push-pins out of the bottom of the panel(on either side of the latch)
carefully pry out the handle to the right and pull down, hatch open, pull down.
the panel is held on with plastic poppers. takes some work, but it all pops out.

Mel from a fellow Ohioan! Be careful removing that liftgate panel, ESPECIALLY in the weather we've been having lately in Ohio! If that plastic hasn't been warmed up in a 60-70 degree garage at least overnite, count on cracking it! It's no fun to get off in the best of circumstances! Good luck

Thanks guys!
Thanks. The car is a week old. I didnt hit anything. Think someone might have tried to vandalize my baby. Soon as I remove the dent, I'll take some pics. Started my modifications as soon as I pulled out the dealer. Headlights, debadged, good floor mats, exhaust tip and changed my interior lights to blue. Not gonna go too extreme. Would like to smoke out my side markers and taillights and come spring, 20 inch shoes. Be back to show my HHR to the world!

would they be behind the license plate lights or do I have to remove the entire inside panel (which I'd rather not do in cold weather, unheated 10X20 storage ). Before I drive 10 miles to look, I'd like to know what I'm up against. All I saw the last time I looked were the two "bigger" torques screws (each side of the lock button housing) and the "smaller" torques screws for the lock button ousing and plate light housings. I really appreciate your fast reply and look forward to any more detail.
