Cool Iggee Seat Covers

I know it has been a long time since I posted. Anyway I still have my 06 SOM HHR 2LT. She just turned 76K miles this week. It has been love/hate with the car but I have decided to keep her till she gives up, and then probably a LS3 transplant!! LOL Well I wish I had opted for the leather interior. After 5 years with kids and being on the road a lot the crappy grey cloth looked, well.. like CRAP!! Water stains the cloth??!?!

I finally bit the bullet and decided since I was keeping the car for a while to "fix" the seats. Leather was what I wanted, but with my Camaro and 56 Chevy projects over budget I had to opt for something semi custom. I looked at the forums and saw a lot of options. I finally went on eBay and ordered a full set of covers with armrests from Iggee (not trying to plug them, just stating the manufacturer.) I was skeptical due to the price. Let me say, I am impressed. I was expecting much worse. These are not covers for re upholstering, but simply pull overs. They are custom cut for the HHR. The Passenger fold down seat was a concern. It fit pretty well. I need to make a small piece (with the included seat belt pads) to cover the very back of the bottom. The arm rest covers are a little loose and there are some wrinkles. It is cold here in DE, so maybe some will smooth out in the summer. I took the time to remove the front seats and take off the plastics. I also carefully cut for replacing the OEM map pocket and the hard plastic on the pass side. I was able to get to the rears by removing the 4 nuts on the front of the bottoms and simply fold the seats. I used the supplied hooks for the elastic bands and Zip Ties. The Rear backs were simple to install and again I carefully cut and put the hard plastic on the backs instead of pulling the cover over them. I do haul stuff on the back often. The Synthetic Leather (vinyl) is pretty good, the seams are sewn good and the extra padding is nice. With 2 kids the water proof ness is the best feature. Overall I am happy and my expectations were met. Their service and shipping was good too. I didn't expect Katskinz, nor did I get them. If you want a quick fix I say give it a try. Total install time was about 6 hours (with cleaning of the carpet while the seats were out.) Here are a few more pics and an album.

The back seat looks "factory", really nice! Fronts are a good fit too.... Summer heat will help some on the tricky parts, hair drier on low setting may help now....... Good idea with the plastic pieces, I did that when I put leather covers on my front seats. (I didn't take my seats out, so it was a pain....) I've seen that brand on ebay and the price was making me think "bad fit", nice to see them installed.

Looks good! I agree, they would look factory. And yes, they were bad before. I don't know why these seats stain so easily...my Lumina is the same way. If I ever buy a new car, I want it to have leather...just for that reason!

Thanks for the complements. It is like a new car. I will post a few pics after my neighbor makes the one piece I wish the kit came with. I too wish they had orange. The color I got was charcoal.
