Mine would not pull straight down either, like the Capt. said. But by squeezing the sides and pulling the end down closest to you should get it to pop open. Notice in the pic where the black clips on each side are.....

Thanks jx3 but I donot have the sunroof. Mine has a small cover about the size of a quater. It seems it is much easier to get this cover off.
