Hey, new here, I've got an 09 lt n does anyone know where I could get a piece of mesh large enough to cover the whole grill opening? One solid piece?

Welcome and Greetings! Quite a while ago I recall someone making his own mesh grill with material he picked up at the Home Depot. Looked pretty good when he was done with it. Another place is e-bay since there are a few pre-made mesh grills available for the HHR. Give the search function a try and punch in mesh grill, you might pick up some ideas.

Here's the link to the place we used! It is not cheap but is of better quality and thickness than what you would purchase from a Home Depot or Lowe's and is big enough be installed in one piece! We also purchased the powdercoated mesh which would help protect it from the eliments!

Yep, got mine at Home Depot. The piece will roughly be 3'X5', made of aluminum, and cost about $8-$9. They keep it by the rebar.

I had the cheap mesh screen on my previous HHR's three bar grille. While it did the job if I had to do it again I would go with what Mrs. DLVRNIT suggested

Home Depot for me, too. Mine was in the section where they stock angle-iron and flat bar pieces. Also near the cut-to-length chain/rope.
