I've been looking at these too to help prevent chips. Need to see some pics of black hhrs with them installed.

And I thought I was the only one to think of painting the HHR letters. The first time I did it I used white tire paint, since it is made for rubber. It held up well, but then I found outdoor acrylic enamel paint that is the exact same yellow as my flames, so I went over the letters with that and it is holding up great.

Not to worry if you go beyond the letters. First, it is not very noticible. Second, you can correct any mistakes with a black marker!

Here's a few of my Blackie with mudflaps--they do keep the back cleaner:
1st is just home from the Dealer
2nd is more recent

Look at my pics. My car is a light color and I like the contrast.

thanks afs9. None on the front? Are the front of your running boards chipped? Mine are.. hence the realization I need mudflaps

Hey Blaq! The flaps were on when I got Blackie--none on the front and no chips of anything. I'm wondering if it is because I don't have to deal with more then sunshine and the occasional rains or fire storm while you have snow

I think folks on here have said that is a factor for adding running boards and/or mudflaps (aka, you have real seasons).

I think they look pretty nice--but I am a bit biased.

Go here to post pix of your gorgeous fall edition and check out black HHR's with flaps: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/picture-media-11/official-black-hhr-post-pix-only-4375/

Hey, afs9 -

don't know if I'm too late with this, but here goes: Don't bother getting paint if you're only going to paint the 'HHR' on your flaps. Sharpie makes a cool metallic/silver-colored permanent marker that ends up looking really good. That's what I used, and I haven't had single problem for over two years, despite numerous washings and the Arizona heat.
