Re: Door Panel Removal to Tint Windows
Hi everyone.
I'm new here, so bear with me. Is there a way to search the postings to see if this topic has been covered already? If so, how?
As for my question, I want to pop off the top of the door panels or remove the squeegees to apply a tint. Anyone know the trick for tinting the HHR? I'm thinking I can just pull up and back on the top of the door panel and then bump them back up and over the retainers when I'm done, but I don't want to break anything if this isn't the right way or the simplest way to get the tint below the squeegee.
Thanks everyone!
Krusty.

To search threads, in the orange bars at the top of the screen click search. Type in what you want to search. Sometimes you have to get creative to find what you are looking for. As for window tint, I always rely on a professional. I would imagine that there is some kind of tool that you would use to tuck the tint below the sill.

Yup. That's the easy way and you won't break anything unless your Superman or something.

Re: Window Tinting
Ahhh......I just realized that the search tool isn't visible until you enter a thread. I was trying to search from the homepage.
Thanks for the tint info. I bought the pre-cut tint on Ebay and did my last car this way too. Both front doors on the HHR cost me 20 bucks including postage and a tint shop would likely want the better part of a hundred. I also got the cargo net for under $20 delivered!
Just picked up my 08 LT yesterday, so I've got lots to learn and explore with this unique car!
Thanks guys!

When I did mine it slipped right under the trim without removing anything and I have had no problems. I just used a decal application tool to push it between the glass and squeegee and then finished it off using normal application method.
