Probably a year or so, can't devote full time to it. Barn doors will be the biggest project. Then comes the front & rear restyle with chrome steel bumpers ( found some that fit the HHR's curves just right! ). Total repaint & a red interior & that should take care of the big stuff. Rear discs & new rims & tires will be the easy items. I'll post pics as things progress.

Wow, sounds like you really have alot planned for your car. The bumpers will be an interesting addition and the black (if it's still black after repaint) with red interior will look sharp

Yep, It's staying black. The first cut was the hardest! It took a few minutes for me to start hacking on a 300 mile new vehicle, but then I got over it & the dust started flying!!!

Now if it turns out the way I envision it in my head & on paper, life will be good.

Is this going to be a show car then or still a daily driver?

Hopefully it will be my rolling business card after I do some shows with it. After working for Usairways for 17 years doing aircraft structural repair & maintenance, they don't want as many American technicians on their planes, so I can't even hold a job in my home station anymore ( Pittsburgh, PA ). I'm going to try & start a custom car building business & get out the aircraft thing altogether.

What great ambition! It seems like a scary thing, but I am sure you will shine and it will come out great! I have no doubt that you will get a LOT of business. Best of luck to you!
