Removing the double sided tape ......

HELP
I removed the hard plastic rock guards (at the rear door) to repaint them from all the road and rock damage. But now there is a continuous bead of double sided tape residue on the car (painted area). How do I remove it?

WD-40 should do the trick.

WD40 is great! goo gone and rubbing alcohol will also do the trick without hurting the paint...use a microfiber cloth to get it off, and not something harsh, that can damage the paint...

Some of those tapes leave a very thin strip of something like tape behind, so a razor blade could help.

I use a heat gun along with WD-40. Works faster with heat, especially factory double sided tape.
