Running Board install

I bought a set of new already painted running boards on ebay at a decent price($170). Only problem is, the install instruction sheets are missing. Before I start installing this weekend, I was wondering if there are any tricks or problems that I need to be aware of? By the way, been building hot rods (cars, trucks, boats, harleys) for over 40 yrs, so better than average with a wrench but not too old to take good advice.

Here is one thread but if you do a search I believe you will find others. On the '06's there were two types. an early one and then chevy made a change. Here is the one thread https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/show...hlight=install

I just installed a set I got off EBAY the stuff here tells it better than the instructions did. it's was harder to remove old one than the install just get the brackets in the correct order.
