Rusty Hood Trend
Looks like the Import and subcompact car crowd is showing their interpretation of a rat rod. I do like the rat rod look on a older rod/sled, but like a cancer it shouldnt' spread to their descendants
What's next to sustain the look welded bare bucket seats and no carpets? bust out a window or 2?

To me this is cool, pimpin', dope, sinister, whatever you want to call it

And so is this

but this is just wrong on so many levels

EDIT - I just looked in your gallery
Now this is cool & tasteful

I can't believe you'd want to bolt on a rusty hood.
It looks great the way it is now, IMHO it would be a serious step down the wrong road. YMMV
Maybe just get a hood ornament like this

Just drive your HHR on alot of backroads, through construction zones, and wherever else you can get a ton or two of rock chips on your hood. Then, Drive it all winter on the best salted roads you can find. In between all of this, do not fix the paint chips. Add 15 years or so, and voila, you'll be a part of the trend.
I dont get why anyone would want to do this. Completely ridiculous. If you want a rusted out bucket, buy a rusted out bucket. Work from there on out.

I vote for Mowgli's hood ornament, STAT!!!
