yeah, i'd like to see results on if there is rubbing or not. i'm looking into going to some 245/40R18 on all 4 corners for my SS, and if those 245/45 don't rub, i should be perfectly fine.
tireman, your tires should be about the same dimensions as what i want to run, what size wheel/offset are your wheels? i'd like to try the 245/45R18 on my stock SS 18x7.5, i know they won't be too wide, as i know a guy who got 255/40 on a 7.5 wheel on an STi (talk about your sidewall bulge there though haha)

wouldn't it be showing slower if you put the 245's on? with a larger tire (the 245) without recalibrating would go further on what the 225-calibration thinks is a shorter distance in the same time, thus moving faster than it says you are. now if you were calibrated for 245 and put 225 on, then it would be reading faster like you said. btw, how did you find the percentage and mph difference between the two? i'd like to see how close the speedo would be going to 245/40R18 from a 225/45R18

I think you are right Yonash. the tire calculator i used has an input for "stock" tire, and "new" tire. i just put in the values to get the overall tire dimentions. and since the 225 are the "stock" HHR SS wheels i should have put that in the "stock" area.
I have kept this link handy to help find wheels/tires for the gto. PITA that is.

i kinda figured it had a "stock" and "new" field, and you had simply reversed them. i actually have the miata tire size calculator bookmarked as well, and have for a couple years actually lol, i just haven't used it in a while and forgot it had the speedometer difference feature too. i just wanted to make sure it got corrected so no one came in here, saw the info, and made some sort of decision based on the incorrect info.
edit-in case anyone is wondering on the results of my inquired tire size change, it would place your speedo 1% fast, so when the speedo says 60mph, you're really doing 59.4mph.

I tried one out and it doesn't fit with the 245 rubber on the rim, I'm heading out Friday to the installer to see what tire options I have. It looks like 225's should do the trick.
