One interesting result: when you open the door with the key, apparently it doesn't turn off the alarm system. When I opened the door Nellie started beeping and kept on beeping until I put the key in the ignition. The beeping wasn't rapid, one beep every 2 seconds or so.
My boyfriend did that the other day when he went to move my HHR. Scared the daylights out of him...and when I went out I said, you used the key to unlock it didn't you?

I believe it will do the every 2-second beep for about 30 seconds as a warning. After that it will go into "alarm" mode and do more beeps and flashes.

If all the doors are shut except for the driver's door and lock the doors then shut the driver's door the alarm will automatically arm itself.
