You don't shift with an auto you just put it in D and go.
No need to shorten the throw if you're not shifting.

There are aftermarket auto shift knobs but I don't know if any will fit the HHR.
It's just not high on my priorities list right now because I already have a pile of parts to add to my HHR and I don't need to add to the pile.
