No it isn't. I found this cheapie on eBay for a Cobalt. I didn't want to spend too much on a long shot and it turned out to be a great deal. It fit's perfect and works great.

Anyway, Does the short shifter you have also work on an auto? If it does,
what, where, how much etc...???

No! You don't shift with an auto you just put it in D and go. No need to shorten the throw if you're not shifting.

There are aftermarket auto shift knobs but I don't know if any will fit the HHR. I'm half tempted to try and see if anything fits because I also have an auto and would like a chrome skull shift knob. It's just not high on my priorities list right now because I already have a pile of parts to add to my HHR and I don't need to add to the pile. If I ever get my other projects done and try to change my shift knob I'll let you know what I find out.
