very happy with the way it looks.....went with the bottom bar cut off..also at the bottom end of the where the silver meet the front bumper cove I used stainless self tapping screws to help hold the corners down....maybe later do the whole thing with screws all around to give it that "aircraft" rivets look?

 

Well it is different. SS grill shells are normally the body color.Guess you decided to try something else.
I wouldn't try the rivets all around. It will look out of place on the smooth,rounded lines of the HHR front.

 

dustin- I like the silvered SS grille look.. Haven't seen another like it !!

The rivet thing, is not my style. But it's your ride !!!
