OK think of it this way. If you took your running boards off, there would be something missing...what would go there in place of the running boards would be.....body side molding. Look at any HHR without boards. Clear now?

I do have running boards, installed after the vehicle was ordered...mine came with chip guards on the fenders which I left on when boards were installed but to the boards replaced my...body side moldings.

My apologies to the thread owner for having a minor remark turned into a hijack.

What my parts catalog says is 'body side moldings' is on the back doors, in the picture, it's directly above the Y.. (dammit, my kingdom for a scanner!!)

Wasn't confusing here. I knew what you meant. I think some also call them rocker panel molding.

The piece covering the section under the doors, certainly would cost more than $60-$70.00.

I know what the stone guards are and I know what a body side molding is. What I need is something like the stainless piece mounted on the front of the rear fender, like in the link above. Thanks.

No need to get snippy, they're all talking about what you asked for and are trying to help.

I think if you take these part numbers to your dealer they can tell you if its the right thing.

If not, if they are as nice as the parts guys at mine, they should be able to give you the right part numbers.

Then I'd check a few sites like gmpartsdirect.com.

At least you've got a place to start.
