'Tinted' my grill
Yes, good for any chrome. When it first came out in the 80's (damn, I'm old) it was called Wheel Tint. I used the red to color match a set of Cragars on a Mustang I had, it held up very well.
VHT is what they are refering to..I used it on several projects...did a Mopar 340 in a 73 Cuda with Blue..turned out right sweet!! Used gold anodized tin....yeeeesssss..and lots of braid. With VHT ( also makes black wrinkle paint,,about the best too) you can base coat any color for various effects...

I think the grill l Came out Awesome.
I tried the inside of my headlights with the Duplicolor Metalcast (blue) first thought it looked great, just didn't match the Blue Flash as well as I would have liked.
They also have it in a Smoked which comes out kinda like a Blackish/Greyish.
tried that too...

I think autozone sells stuff similar to it but in different colors.. I thought about doing my headlights with the red one.
This is the stuff I am talking about..

I have used metal cast anodizing paint on bikes sine it came out, My expierience is that it works perfect on a raw polished aluminum, Which is what its made for, other metals will not look anodized. I've used every color many times. It is not a durable finish, and chips with a hard look, but on raw aluminum done in super light coats, it is hard to tell the diff. from real anodizing.
Stone chips are a concern. I'm hoping the many coats of clear will bear the brunt of the onslaught until I work out the details of my own design custom steel grille.... hint- think old Buick....
