Well mine is the granite black but depending on how the light hits it it appears anything from black to dark grey to a medium "gun metal grey". But it doesn't really make any difference I LOVE THIS CAR!!

I just got a Shadow Edition May 31, '08 and I love the color. It usually looks black, but in the evening it looks dark green. Under the garage lights it looks dark blue, and in some light it is even grey. The dealer called it black granite.
I also like the spoiler, wheels and rocker mouldings which are all part of the package, I think. Nicely understated!

HHR Shadow Edition color love/hate
Hi everyone,
Just got our Shadow Edition about 2 weeks ago. I was torn because I liked the look of the SS but didnt want to go that route..My local dealer had a Shadow and when I saw it it fit the bill. The sills and spoiler give it a much more performance look. I love and hate the color. The color looks great and does generally look black. When light hits the car the metallic is crazy..this color is loaded with metallic. I see some gray/gold but usually I see a very dark black/green hugh..but this thing sometimes shine with a teal green hint...I must sound crazy. The only drawback is the upkeep which I knew going in would be a constant battle. I was dissapointed to see alot of flaws in the clearcoat. They lay it on thick and I have seen distortion and even what looks like several air bubbles that got caught in the clear and "popped" to gove it a pot mark. I love the car and the color but either the guys in Mexico cant spray, set up a robot right to spray or it was Friday around 4:59 p.m. when my car went into the paint booth???
Otherwise we like the car but the clear job is pretty bad for a new anything.
Car goes to the dealer tomorrow and I am torn on pointing out the clear coat flaws because we all know what a dealer can do to "fix" them, I worry the car will be worse than when it went in. Other Shadow owners see these clear flaws?
