That was exactly what I was talking about, only I don't like the postmodern numbers. I'd prefer white-face gauges that had old-style tall numbers, like the seriously old speedos/tachs have. Best example is the lengthwise speedo my old Cadillacs had, where the digits were like one inch tall by a quarter inch wide. That would completely sell the whole 1949 deal!

Also, I'd love to come up with an operational spotlight with a flexible handle. My store started carrying them, but short of mounting it dead center on the roof there's no way to mount one on the HHR because of the door placement.

i'd love to see:

the hatch open from the side like the old 48 sedan seen below



the arm rest to be over farther (i always end up using the passengers)

might add more later....just what came to mind.
