This is an article on outgassing of the dash and has a product to use to get rid of the streaks.

I sincerely have tried everything mentioned. i typically always am VERY meticulous about cleaning my vehicles and i have NEVER ran into this problem. Normally i use car glass cleaner and newspaper and have never had an issue llike this. None of my previous cars have ever had this.

I ordered up the Glare-X product and waiting for it to arrive!

its really kinda strange because the glare is really intense at night with street lights and headlights. Almost to the point i do NOT want to drive! I hope this glare-X works as advertised because this is really quite a hazzard! Something tells me it wont though....If i look through the glass straighton in sunlight it looks good but on an angle its almost like i can see a rainbow oil streak on the glass that i cannot get off.

Oh well......Will update when i recieve the product and Dueces i will let you use it as well!

Outgassing has been happening for several years now on many makes of cars.I had it on my '79 Malibu and my '84 Z-28 as well as my '97 Audi A-6 and my two Cavalier wagons('88 and '93).

Hey Labdog......

Your last post added some different information. Are you saying the "haze" in your window is rainbow colored? If that's the case, I doubt if the problem is caused by out gassing. If the "obstruction" doesn't clean away with all the different substances you have used, then it may be some type of mineral deposit IN THE GLASS ITSELF.

Your car is a 2007....take it to the dealer and indicate the vision problem, particularly at night. Wouldn't be unusual to have a faulty windshield from Mexico. MAYBE they will replace the window.

One drop on the dash and I bet you won't use it again.

Here's an old trick to make your glass look good and it will remove water spots sometimes: 000 or 00 gauge steel wool. Just be very careful when rubbing the steel wool on the glass near where the glass meets any painted metal, because the steel wool will permanently scratch the paint. Follow up with a rub down with newspaper. Glass will look showroom. Just be sure to use a leaf blower or something to blow off all the steel wool dust.

One other question for labdog....

You're not seeing this "rainbow" while wearing sunglasses are you?

Polarized glasses will reveal the rainbow like spots or coloring because of the tempering in the windshield and side glass.

I havent really looked at it with sunglasses on but i certainly will try it. I have had a few people tell me to take it back to the dealer. Honestly it really is DANGEROUS at night with oncoming cars. You honestly CANT see the road or people.

I just bought the vehicle and it is a CERTIFIED vehicle. (If that means anything) Do you think i have any recourse with them or am i wasting my time?
