The illumination of radio dial has been intermittent now has bone out permanently. All features of radio work except illumination. I had CD in it yesterday with no problem. Has any one else experienced this problem and what is the solution?

Yes, others have. Basically new head unit.

Are you aware of the auto dimming feature? Is that it?

Welcome to the site, could try just for fun , a battery labotomy, and check the ground wires and the dimmer switch on the waterfall

I am experiencing something similar, only it's just one row of buttons that that don't illuminate. Everything to the right of the BAND button is dark, and the music note button at top right. The scan and seek buttons, volume/power knob and fast forward buttons all dark. Everything else on the dash, steering wheel and doors lights up normal. Is the dimmer switch supposed to turn on the dome light? Mine does not.

After about a month or so of ownership I thought there was something wrong with my head unit/gauge cluster... Turns out I had just knocked the auto dim switch all the way to the left while cleaning the car XD
