Exclamation 2009 HHR New speakers HELP

So today I got in my car and the only speakers I can hear out of are the two by the windshield. I am completely lost on what to do. I don't know where all my speakers are, how to replace them, or what speakers to buy.

Should I get someone to fix them, fix it myself, or...?

If I should get speakers do you recommend any? Sizes/brands/where to get them?

I'm just completely lost. Thank you for any help.

jenl2881,

Have you taken your vehicle to the dealership to have this issue diagnosed? The failure of the speakers could be determined quickly and fixed at the dealership. Let me know what you decide to do.

db/sb,

Due to an expansion in the social media department I have taken over this forum in place of Michelle. However, she is my back-up when I have days off. If you were referring to her surgery, she is doing well, her recovery went well and she is back to work. Michelle also says, "Hi."

My rear speakers have been off & on recently (I have an 09 LS). Sometimes one or the other, sometimes both. Even though I am still under warranty I am going to take the rear door panels off and check the right & left rear channel outputs at the door this weekend. If it's just the speakers I think I just buy some better new ones myself then let the dealer replace them with something that is just gonna crap out again, especially since I am sure they don't even stock them.

Any 5 (think they are 5s) inch rear speaker suggestions?

On another note I just replaced the drivers door speaker on my wifes 05 cobalt sedan. Replaced the 6inch with an off the shelf OEM 6 1/2inch type replacement from Pep Boys, a better replacement than an actual paper OEM speaker & only cost $15. When I took the old speaker out there was water sitting in the speaker connector. Luckly the front drivers speaker output channel wasn't shorted out & the new speaker looks semi water resistant.

There should be no reason why a speaker would go on and off, having to do with the speaker itself. It sounds more like a short. Perhaps the plug in at the hu or amp depending on which factory system you have.
