add amps and EQ's to existing system
using the stock head unit for now may look into getting something with a display at a latter date. I have done some research and found that the stock unit does ok as long as you can flatten the signal and start over to get all the frequencies in balance and maybe boost the mid bass and sub bass to compensate for the road noise and I think I can do that with this setup, we'll see. if not i'll be looking at other options. I'll be working on the rest of the build next week, first the tweets then the final step will be tapping into the factory amp that way maybe I wont have to ride around with no sound. I'm hoping to be able to tie all components together in one day, then a few months of tuning to get it the way I like it. I also want to get Scott to tune it for comp seeing as the 360 can hold 4 presets in case I get the bug again.

For me I switched out to a Pioneer 80PRS HU. It is the little brother to the Pioneer P99RS top line SQ HU. Both have built in DSP's but the 80 is only capable of processing a 2-way front + sub and only has separate 16 band graphic eq's for left and right. Since I am running 3-way front + sub I went with Zapco DC reference amps so I could get the extra channels of TA.
I found the stock HU to be clean but with very little volumn knob to work with. Also like you have mentioned it has a varying eq curve. It will pull bass as you raise the volumn. It will also pull it if you fade to the rear lol. Having that ability to flatten this and maintain a linear flat signal is a must for a good SQ setup with this HU. Or atleast a line driver and a remote gain knob for the sub amp just to get by.

Does anyone have any Idea on how to pipe ac to the rear cargo area where the spare tire is? most of my trips are short but on a long haul there might be a heat issue and fans are noisy. I know there are ducts under the front seats but cant think of a way to without it being noticeable to get them to the rear. Or a very very quiet fan. For now I think I will just put spacers under the amps so what little air flow I do get back there can flow under the amps. I don't know what does everyone think?
The squirrel cage fans from stinger move a lot of air and are super quite. Use a relay nd trigger the turn on with your remote amp trigger. That's one option...
We are also using the pioneer head unit. The question will be what unit, the 99 or 80 ... still debating that option.
