AUX INPUT cables FOR SALE
AUX INPUT cables FOR SALE
Hey guys I was just checking in to see if anybody needed a AUX INPUT adapter cable for the factory radio. I have a bunch if anybody is interested. They are gold plated too.
Right angle on both ends?
Say yes, and we are friends for lfe, or until our spouses say
we have to quit partying.....
I have been looking for one with two right angled ends.
The stright in method makes me a little nervous...

I posted this before (in the thread you started about right angle minijack cables), but maybe you missed it...
I ended up ordering one from SoundProfessionals.com
Do a search on their site for "right angle 3.5mm patch" without the quotes. There are 3 different (but similar) cables with several different lengths-- they have 8-inch and 12-inch cables (plus more).
I bought both a 24-inch SP-SPSC-7 and a 1-meter SP-SPSC-5. The SP-SPSC-7 has a much slimmer plug than the other and since I run my cable out the aux jack then behind the radio bezel (to mostly hide wires), that's what I'm using.
The two that have right angles on both sides range in price from $8-$14, depending what length you order.
There it is. Order it!

Actually, it doesn't. What the gold does is prevent oxidation and corrosion that leads to a poor connection.
Silver is actually better, it has a slightly lower resistance than copper. Silver oxidizes like copper does, but unlike copper the oxidation is conductive, so cleaning the connectors is not necessary. Gold has a higher resistance than either material, but does not oxidize. It's actually a slightly WORSE connection. So why don't we use silver, then? Simple. Gold looks better, and the difference in conductivity is very slight..
I know you didn't REALLY need to know all that...
you are correct CrazyBob. As you mention gold does not corrode. Copper does. Gold doesn't Directly give you a better connection. Using a gold connection will not corrode, Inversly causing a better connection. I believe that they use gold because its more distinguishable than other metals.
