Bluetooth without OnStar?

Just to confirm, is it possible to have Bluetooth if OnStar is physically not present? If so, what are all the components necessary? For example, do you still need a special rearview mirror, or does a standard/generic mirror work?

Thanks, I clarified the question...I know you can use bluetooth if you just don't subscribe to OnStar, but my HHR physically does not have OnStar. On the original build sheet, it was deleted because it was a fleet vehicle. However, the build sheet does say that it has bluetooth.

You must have OnStar to have GM bluetooth.
