Chime issue

When I first got my HHR I installed my amp using a line-out converter, ommited the rear door speakers and wired 2 truck style subs straight from the amp.
My problem is I didn't use the pac adapter like I should of and when I open my door with keys in switch it chimes twice and stops, not that I mind this but wondering if I messed up some other warning by doing this.
When the switch is turned to run position and open door, it chimes continuously like it should.
Any thoughts?

If you used the line converter, and didn't replace the stock head unit, then I think you wouldn't need the PAC adapter. Did it ding longer than that before you did this?

I thought it did, it should I would think. Also just noticed if I turn the radio off the turn signals work but with no sound.
This is with the OEM h/u.

My thought is that the amp turns off with the radio, therefore no sound. I'd think twice about using OEM HU with amps because of this. Though a PAC or axxess adapter may fix this. Just need the right one.

The radio off delay is on the LAN, so if you didn't use the PAC or LAN 04 [03] from axxess then you need to run the ign acc wire to the ign switched fuse for both the radio and the amp.

Better to use the LAN [PAC]

Looking back at my comment, I see that it may be in error. I don't see the ability to edit or delete it though. Now that I have done my own non-OEM install I have learned some things. For instance, the ECM controls the radio on/off. So it's not per-se an ACC signal. There IS an amp wire that runs the OEM amp in mine. it's an output from the radio. Also runs the antenna amp.
