Chime module.

I'm working on getting the sound working on my new 2007 HHR. Someone chopped the wires from the harness. I am wondering how easy it would be to add a chime module. I'd like not to mess with the speaker connections. Is it as easy as tapping into the power and what appears to be 2 extra wires? Thanks.

The chimes come from the BCM via the GMLAN to the radio (along with the sswitched power on signal). If you have an after market radio you need a GMLAN adapter.

Thanks for the response. Does it play through the stereo speakers? Will it work if I do not connection it to the stereo speakers. Can I connect one dedicated speaker to it?

If you are installing an after market radio you just use the adapter and don't worry about it.

Crutchfield.com has lots of free info including wiring diagrams. You don't have to buy from them.
