LOVE my PAL attachment -- but that is on another thread.

My NANO up and died and just got a new iPod (hot pink of course!). It is nice to have 8 gigs instead of 4, however that is my one complaint if you will is that I now have to take it out to charge it every few days.

The Nano I rarely took out unless it was to add/remove music.

These work best if you make playlists of music ... I LOVE it and love using the controls on the steering wheel.

There seems to be too many "problems" with add ons to these radios. My 06 came with the six CD changer and that is no longer an available option in the HHR. I really like it as I'll stick in six CDs of miscellaneous music set it on all disc random and will get an all day drive of music. It has a plug for an auxillary MP3 or such which did work, but the cheap MP3 player I had, ate batteries then shorted out.

Will a I phone plug into the PAL? I wondered if I could plug in the phone and control the I pod in it from the wheel.

I have 6 disc of MP3's burned and with hundreds of songs but it would be nice to plug my phone in as I have thousands of songs there.

I don't think so.
My fiance tried plugging his iPhone onto the attachment and it came up as not compatible.

That's great. That means the iTouch might not work either.

I'm am looking for a BT interface that supports phones and A2DP streamed audio. Controlling the iPod through the steering controls or radio just isn't up to snuff. If I can talk through the Onstar hardware (via the add on BT interface) and play my iTouch through the BT audio, that's plenty for me.

I am waiting for a response from PAC to see if there is a BT phone/audio interface available or in the works.

Edit: I got this response from PAC:

Hi Terry,

using the EGO TAlK and the BlU-GM11 you will get A2DP Connectivity.

Two boxes probably $150 each. Dang. That's starting make getting a new head unit more viable even if it costs much more.

Good, maybe that iPhone had an issue? I have a US Spec in my SRX and other than saying it won't charge, it does work the same as my eariler Gen iPods (but I hate the playlist requirement).

I dunno. I think I will just keep plugging it into the front for now.

iPod Touch

I got a new iPod Touch for xmas. PAL will not charge it. PAL works faster with it than my old 5th gen iPod Video, but it's still way too slow and the output level is way too low from PAL. I purchased a cradle and use the aux input. The sound is pristeen.

I'm sure the new touch is different than the original one. I bought his when they first came out. Your's probably has different software or even hardware inside it.

I have a Griffin iPod interface/charger cable with FM transmitter, it works well and has a long enough cord that I can put the iPod pretty much anywhere.

Just got a cheapo Walmart iPod holder/charger,uses the Ipod's interface cable to charge, and i plug the iPod into the aux in jack. Convenient, works very well, but what a mess of wires.

Really wanted the PAL as a clean solution to the problem, but it sounds as if it's not quite thought out completely.
