The clarity and increased soundstage you get from replacing the stock HU is well worth it IMO. The stock amplifier has very limited sonic "detail" and the D/A converters are very poor. Putting in a premium head unit will double your listening pleasure (and double your pleasure...double your fun!)

Hey Mike...you might put something in the classified section as a Wanted ad and see what you come up with. It might get lost here in this thread.
