I want to add steering wheel controls

I have a kenwood bt948HD and a 2010 HHR

It does not have the buttons already so I would need to add them myself.

Is this hard to do?

I am very good with wiring and I've pretty much taken every single piece of the interior apart to get to everything I needed, except for the steering wheel of course.

I entered my vehicle and head unit into crutchfield and it came up with this guy

iDatalink Maestro ADS-MSW Steering Wheel Control Adapter Connects your car's steering wheel audio controls to select aftermarket car stereos at Crutchfield.com

Anyone know if this would work?

Or if there is a better module? I want to be able to program each button for a certain function that might not be on the keys already.

I've already looked at several threads and the part numbers I found don't seem to fit the 2010 model for the actual steering wheel buttons, they are all listed as 2006-2007 and I'm not sure if they would work.

The part numbers that are listed are from posts that are really old.

I have a 2011 2LT with Ebony color leather steering wheel on the car.
I am considering removing it and replacing with something else without the radio controls. If I go ahead with that project would you be interested in the Wheel including all radio controls.?
The car only has 24,000 miles on it.

Private message me back if you are interested.

how much would you want for it? I don't think shipping would make it worth the whole steering wheel though.
