Any news on this?

Is there any news on this issue?
My 3Gs iPhone STILL doesn't work with the stereo in my car (my last iPhone did work, albeit with a little noise).

I'm about to schedule a service appointment, and would like to be armed with as much info about the issue (and hopefully, a resolution) as possible.

Please post what you find out at the dealer regarding this. I plan on purchasing a new Panel and I really need my iPhone to work properly. Thanks!

Have you tried switching to Airplane Mode?

TAZ my 3GS iphone works fine. No issues. Mine is completely stock, unjailbroken. I am going to jailbreak it soon though, I just haven't got around to it. Let me know if yours is with factory settings or not.

UPDATE: All problems solved!

I tried again - and VOILA! I was able to pair the phone using Bluetooth.

However, I still couldn't get the USB connection to work; I was getting a "Device Connect Fail" message on the radio display. However, I did a search and found another post here that said a bad USB cord was the culprit. I tried another cord and though the iPhone itself gave me a message to the effect of "this accessory is not made to work with iPhone", the accessory actually DID work. All that, and it was a bad (or more likely, an incompatible) USB cable.

My stuff - iPhone and factory stereo - are all "stock".
I would never 'jailbreak' my iPhone; no way would I risk getting stuck paying $100/month for a brick for two years if Apple decided to screw everyone over...

They can't and wouldn't try-they are already on thin ice with the govt over imbedded issues. Like Msft.

I think that's very short-sighted and optimistic of you. The terms of use agreement clearly prohibits jailbreaking. Apple would be well within their rights to brick your phone. I don't see how the government could do anything in favor of the consumer who broke the usage agreement.
