Kappa One - Install Help Needed

I just purchased an Infinity Kappa One amp. I am so confused about hooking subwoofers up and what I should be looking for.

The amp is a mono block amp. Which means there is only one channel, but there are 2 positives and 2 negatives. They are internally wired in parallel. The amp is rated at 500 watts RMS at 4ohms and 800 watts RMS at 2ohms.

What are my subwoofer wiring opinions?

Your wiring options depend on what sub/subs you plan on using. What are your plans as far as how many subs, and whether they'll be single or dual voice coils?

Well, I have 2 Pioneer Premiers. 4ohm DVC rated at 1000 watts RMS. I know I can't run both due to the underpowering factor.

I was thinking, if it was possible to run one of these speaker at a 2ohm load, it should be fine. I don't think underpowering a subwoofer by 200 watts would cause too much harm.

If that wasn't possible, I was going to go shopping for a new subwoofer setup to match the Kappa One. I tried to call the support hotline for Infinity, but couldn't understand what they were saying.

Any help at all??

If somebody could find diagrams for different subwoofer setups for "internally wired in parallel" mono amps would be great. Please post a link.

Go to wwwCrutchfield.com there is a how to section on different ways to wire amps. All the info you should need is there.

Thanks for the help. After digging around and what not, I found my answers.

I'll be honest, I expected more from a Kappa Series amp. I'm not too impressed. I'll buy better subwoofers though and see if there is any difference.
