Looking for advice on adaptor
OK I finally have a question not answered by a search. So here goes the first post.
I have a 2010 panel with a 6 speaker system that I have previously installed a Pioneer touchscreen unit. Originally I used the cheaper kit and was happy but have decided to make everything work like it should. I installed a Axxess - GMOS-LAN-034 and Babs did not like it.
After the install when I put the key in the accessory position the illumination for the gauges would randomly flash as well as the tach and speedo would randomly jump around. It was also a crapshoot if the radio would even stay on.
When driving the gauges would really freak out as well as all the warning lights would randomly flash and the DIC would give blanks for mileage and temp. It was still a crapshoot if the radio would stay on.
I went through and double checked my connections and eventually pulled the axxess out and put my dumb adaptor back and everything went back to normal. I've returned the axxess and am considering what to do next.
I would still like to get everything working right as I did like having some of the features working again. I plan on adding a backup camera and the navigation module for the Pioneer unit. I'm leary of axxess now but PAC and Scosche dont seem to support all of the functions that axxess does.
Has anyone else had these issues when installing an axxess unit? Does anyone suggest another adaptor?

Seems I remember something about different LAN adapters. Maybe you got the wrong number?
Sure does sound like something was mucking up the computer signals.
This thread seems to have some relevance: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/audi...ss-09-a-23591/

Everything in the packaging had that number on it. Maybe the brain in the kit was defective. It's still the only kit, that I have found, with all of the features I want. I may have to order one from someone else and see if I have better luck.
However, in my research I have noticed there are at least three different setups with that part number. One has rca's the other two don't. THe instructions list the same part for both the amplified and non amplified systems. Maybe there were some running changes they made to the adaptor.

When I did a Pioneer install in my 2007 I had to use 2 adapters, one for the LAN and another for the steering wheel controls/OnStar connection. I don't have the model numbers but the install was a lot of soldering and shrink tube as the Pioneer adapter had to be soldered to an adapter plug and then another adapter plug was soldered to the car wire harness. The owner of the shop said to use plenty of light to make sure all wires were connected correctly as some such as the speaker wires are easy to get mixed up and he said "weird" things will happen!
OK got a new one in and it works like it should. First one must have been defective. I also installed an ebay wireless back up camera and it worked with it as well. Now I'm waiting on the steering wheel adaptor to come in.
