Looking at changing the head unit

Ok well got a 2007 lt has the pioneer package amp sub woofer in the back .. so I went see about jvc double din radio features I want is Bluetooth, incoming calls , iPhone hookup too . And want to keep the rest of the setup .. ok the radio is 130$ then you got to buy gmos harness on star w/ steering controls 175$ and a dash kit and antenna 50$ and I mean that’s is close to 400$ just to do this and if you want a good install that’s 125$ .. I really think this is outrageous just to change your head unit to get these features just to be 2021 world .. I mean you really don’t want to cut up your harness but man what happen to good o days buy the unit and wire it up ? Just putting this out there and if anybody got input on this stuff I am all ears ..

Try Crutchfields to see if they have a better price

Get a bluetooth adapter that plugs into the aux power outlet (cig lighter) and broadcasts FM. Many options available. Under $30. BT is cheap, I have a few USB adapters for laptops that cost less than a dollar each.

Here are some.

Yes, Crutchfields is a great source for information and the price isn’t to steep, and they have the technical support. As for cutting into your stock harness, that hasn’t been a good idea since the last century.

My 2011 2LT has the Bluetooth feature, it just works for the phone calls, not for music from the phone to the speakers.

With Crutchfield look for open box or damaged box deals. Sometimes there is pretty good savings. And if you do buy a head unit from them they give you a discount on the mounting hardware and connectors. But they also tell you what you need so you can look for lower prices.

Lots of variations, some do phone & music, some don't. Some control the other device, some don't.
