MP3 ID3 Data "Stuck" in my Radio

Here's an interesting one regarding my factory stereo. I tried to search the forums but didn't see much about this problem. I inserted a CDR full of MP3's a couple days ago, and had my radio scan the ID3 tags to catalog the disk. Now, when I'm listening to the regular radio, part of one of the ID3 tags displays along with the regular radio data. So it'll say something like "Rock 100.5 the KATT" and then switch to "Fergie/Ludicris - Glamorous". This morning, I stuck an entirely different disk full of MP3's (my best of 80's and 90's heavy metal) and had it scan the ID3 tags, thinking that maybe it'd wipe out whatever is "stuck" in the radio. No dice. I'm still reading about Fergie and Ludicris. Anyone have any ideas on how to get that out of there?

Get an aftermarket radio.

Kidding, may have to take it into the dealer and see what hey say, dont recall anyone on here having that happen before.

I don't use the ID3 tag scan on mine. I just let the ID3 data display as the track changes.

Ok guys now I really feel dumb.. How do you make the radio scan for id3 tags on a cdr? I just record the music to cdr then play it. I press the info button if I want to know the artist etc. Am I doing something wrong? BTW what exactly is a ID3 tag? Sorry for the ignorance but would like to understand.

The ID3 tag is a set of fields that describe the audio file. Artist, Album, Year, Genre, etc. If you click that "I" button at the right of the screen (not the info button) after you insert a CDR, it will scan your disk and catalog the audio files so that you can browse through by artist, etc. It's not necessary to listen to the files and display them as they are played, but you can't browse the disk without that initial scan. Now here's an odd update to my story: The data is only stuck on ONE radio preset. The other stations display their data as expected. I guess that's not too bad.

Some good news! The wife just told me that she's gonna let me put an amp and subs in for Father's day. I'll be browsing the forums to see what you guys recommend. I think she's gonna give me a budget around $350 so I'll hafta be a bargain shopper. I can't wait

In the online owners manual found *HERE*, in the 2006 book, section 3-68 (pg 194) to 3-71 (pg 197) refrences MP3 play from a disc. I dident see this issue mentioned as I skimmed over that section though.

I usually plug in the 30GB Zune and let it play random!

Thanks all for the help. Got it going and recorded about 5 hours of MP3 music on the standard CD-R with about half of the space left, sorry I ran out of songs to put on it but I am back to d/l'ng them again, now to put them all into catagories and make albums for playing.. Not much time on my hands to do this so it will take a while but I will get'r done sooner or later. Again thanks and sorry for the stupid question..
