My Under the Storage Cover Sub Build

I made this using the existing spare tire well. Everything fits nicely and there is about a 4" airgap between the subs and cover. I went with a 150rms 2champ. the storage cover almost makes the whole thing a band-pas box. just enough thump added to the existing system. and the best part of the install was having everything I needed to tap into right there, and still being able to use the storage area. also, nobody can see my rig. Not the greatest amp or speakers, but the whole build was under $250 everything included and there is absolutely no vibration or distortion. the box is 2 layers of 3/4" MDF covered in bed-liner. I also ran everything as quick connects so the whole unit can come out very easily to get to the battery.

Chris, as always thank you. Came out pretty good. I could stand a little more thump, so a different amp is in my future, or I will run that one bridged mono, and add a duplicate amp to the underside in the same location.

Nicely done I want something like that just to add a little more oomph to the pioneer system.

Yeah, I had the stuff for weeks while trying to figure out what to build. I was gonna try and build a box, then remove it when I needed the back, but that was too much headache to keep taking them in and out. The spare tire well is deep enough to fit the 12's without having to do anything, and there is plenty of shelf space to just sit the stuff in there. Then I just followed the "Sticky" install instructions to tie into the existing system. The longest wire I think was 3'. The best part is I keep my trunk space, and nobody can see it. There was also plenty of head room above the mounting surface. the amp has a good 1.5" over the top of it for space, and the speakers have around 5".

Yeah, no more bottoming out sound from the stock 10". the power at 150rms is not enough to wiggle your eyes, but it definately rounds out the existing system.
