I'm having issues carrying grocerys in my hhr. I thought about buying one of those net things for the back. Not sure if I will or not because they never work right. My grocerys are flying all over in the back. I have to tye the bags in a knot so they don't spill out. Driving home I can hear them sliding around and banging into the walls. Before I get something spilled that will leave a stain I need to figure out what to do. I also thought about buying some tubs to put in the back to stick my grocerys in. I thought I would post about it here to see what you guys think. Do you have this issue? This is obviously a question for someone who grocery shops lol

Something that may be helpful MJ is getting a rubber cargo area mat. That should prevent sliding.

Great idea Officer. I didn't think about that. I will check into getting one. I really didn't want to carry around tubs all the time.

use a bungie cord. string it through the handles on the bags...there are little latches in the cubby hole thingy hear the seats.

That is one of the little details that bug me about the HHR, why didn't they mold in a few of the grocery bag hooks like my 2004 van has in the back? They also could have put a cubbyhole w/t cover over the tops of the rear wheel wells. (Yeah I know that this is more of a utilitarian touch than the hot little car ones, but hey, aren't wagons traditionally known as 'grocery getters'? )

factory options

There is the cargo organizer, though your bags may be too big. Wal-Mart style plastic should fit. There is also the cargo netting that goes across the back.

We have grocery hooks. Put the rear cargo shelf in the upper mounts and you will see them on the bottom. Then put groceries in the cargo tray above the spare tire.

I don't thinks its the car's fault that the load isn't secure. If I only have a couple bags, I put them on the backseat floor. When I have a lot, I put them against my back seat backing in the trunk space with a rolled up moving blanket behind them to stop them from sliding. When I'm done, I tuck the blanket away in the area below the rubbermaid deck.

Also, you could flip your rear mat over to have a rubberized texture. Anyone ever try flipping the plastic deck over? I'm pretty sure it has deviations underneath for such purposes.
