Hey all,

Brand new to the group. I joined months ago but haven't made a post until now. I'm a graphic and web designer, I have a 2 year old daughter, I play the drums in a band, and am an avid mountain biker. That pretty much sums me up hehe. Now on too the goods...

I looked through some of the audio setups in the mother thread but didn't see any discussion that compared the 2 setups. Which setup gives better sound quality or will it really matter; If the sub runs parallel with the car up against either the left or right side, or perpendicular to the body positioned say behind the seat? The stock port is positioned perp', but is that just for convenience?

I'm not a sound expert but have a basic understanding of how sound waves work etc. Anyone care to weigh in on this?

*Note: I have a 10" Bazooka tube.

I like the one on the left. Is it easy to install? How does it sound?

 

I have gotten better results from aiming the speakers/port towards the back, as I have seen in other cars in competition. It often makes a measurable difference when in a wagon/suv of 2 or 3 dB.

 

Better yet..Install the rear shelf on the top mounts and face it aft....gies the sound waves something to work with

 

I have mine pointed to the rear and on a piece of carpeted mdf. Then I bungee it to the tie downs for easy removal to carry larger items. Still have a sub in the stock spot and a connector in the small box behind the left back seat so I will still have some bass in the car.

 

Welcome Greed to the site. If I could choose, I would go with the one on the left, less bouncing of sound going on.
