Question for all of you w/ Pioneer HU's

I followed Mike from Socalhhr's wiring diagram for the Pioneer HU. I have one question...I have to shut the Headunit off Manually when I turn off the car it does not go off with the ignition off. Is that correct? Im using the Ebay harness I just switched up some wires and followed Mikes diagrams. Thanks for any replies..

And two more things..hows did your HU fit in the dash. Did you guys have to cut behind the HU to get a flush fit? Mine is almost perfect but just a bit off, doesnt seem really solidly in, I think I might need to do some cutting behind the unit..

and I went to peop boys,autozone..no one carries the antenna adapter for this car..I have to call some audio shops tomorrow to find one..im just using CD's right now ah well

sounds like you need to swap your constant power and your ignition wire

Yep, had to cut the back out to fit my RCAs on the back of the unit. Quite a few others have had to do the same. Also, you can get a Chrysler antenna adapter (it's the same thing basically).

There is not a whole lot of room for an aftermarket radio. I thought I was going to have to cut the whole back out A hacksaw works great and so does a dremel just watch out for that harness back there. If you want your radio to turn on with ignition and turn off when the doors open, hook up to fuse #21 on the center console. That's what I have mine hook up to with an add a fuse from pep boys. BTW...Mike at SoCals sells the antenna adapter you're looking for....

Thanks for the info NG I thought I wired it wrong but I guess thats the way it is w/out wiring it to the fuse..its kind of nice in some ways I guess to work the radio without putting a key in, i just have to remember to shut er off when I get out
