Questions for the hard core stereo/AV gurus

Just started stock piling parts for a build on my new SS.

I tried to buy a car without the upgraded pioneer system but it wasn't meant to be.

On to the questions...

I am probably gonna end up with a Pioneer,Kenwood or JVC double din AV monitor for the dash. My major wants are Ipod compatible and blue Tooth.

What dash kit looks the best?

Does the PAC module for steering wheel controls become a plug and play if the unit I purchase says steering control ready?

What harness should I be looking for to retain onstar and most/all functions?

I am sure I will have more questions as I go so thanks for the help:)

Here is what I am planning so far.

HU?
Front stage PG RSD 6.5" components
Rear stage PG RSD 6.5" components (I will turn these down)
Sub 12" Image Dynamics IDQ D2 V.3
Amp Elemental Designs ED.5 (100X 4@4ohms + 600X1 at 1ohm)

Also for the guys with the stock pioneer system...Can you remove the A pillar tweeters? I would like to remove and replace in the same place so the car loos stock and I don't have to cut holes.

I can't answer all of your questions but I can provide some insight on some of them As for the deck, if you are using a double din deck I would think there would be no dash kit needed. Also you can add bluetooth (via a Parrot bluetooth device and harness) and IPOD (via a GMPAL) to the factory deck. Yes you can easily remove the tweeters in the A-Pillars and replace them.

Here check out this thread:

https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/audio-video-17/got-my-overhead-can-done-15364/

You also need, a Metra GMOS-LAN-04 GM Onstar LAN Data Bus Interface, a PAC SWI - Steering Wheel Radio Control Interface, a GM In-dash Receiver Kit, Antenna Adapter.

I went with the Pioneer AVIC-D3X DVD Navigation Receiver Package because it does everything you wanted and is easy to bypass. If you need exact part #'s on what I bought, LMK.

I have more pics at the bottom of that thread. Where I hid the bluetooth and satellite units, and the Pioneer in the dash, just scroll down a little.
