Radio Volume Etiquette?
a few years ago we had this one person in the low income houseing apartments he would drive down my street at 3am and would rattle all the windows and doors and make car alarms go off . One night the neighbourhood got together and stoped him in the street and ripped out his system and called out the police and they arrested him for drugs charges, disrupting the peace,and 3 arrests worrents.now the street had been quiet for about 1 year .

Awesome story.
Not only do I turn it down out of respect for others, but you do not want to attract the attention of thieves. Years ago, growing up in Brooklyn, I knew kids that would follow people playing loud music. Once they parked, their car was broken into. It even happened to me. When I pulled up to a light around the corner from my house, I forgot to crank it down. I saw a group of boys turn and look at me, and instantly knew I was in trouble. I didnt see them follow me, but the next morning the garage door for my apartment house was broken and my car was minus a side window and stereo. The only thing that made me smile was that they stole a real crappy Radio Shack equalizer that I tried and hated. It wasnt even hooked up. Hope they enjoyed the distortion
Luckily they never found my good amp which was hidden in the trunk.
h0ffy, not everyone that listens to latino music is an illegal from south of the border, and truth be told, I feel offended by the comment. I hope Im not stepping on toes when I say this, Try to open your mind, or widen your horizens a bit and you will see that there are ways to word your expressions in a not so offensive manner. Other than that, I agree with the loud offensive noise some create trying to show they have a system.
Years back... And I mean Years, like 1985 when I first did this on Cassette.
When I noisy car approaches, and wants to share their loud music with you, I have found the best thing to do is to put on the Bagpipe music. If there ever is a music for sharing in that situation, That Is It!
Especially if you love it, and can tolerate it at volume!

Even Mexican's own HHR's and yes, I do blare my Ranchero music and God-forsaken-punk-rock really loud (and sing along too)--but only with the sunroof open and during the day!

@ngelita
Josh, you and Gary said what I had wanted to post. I agree if we have differing opinions--there are ways of saying them in a succinct manner that don't insult or assume all agree with.
